Detroit Area Water Heater Service Expansion #2 | Meet Max

Detroit's New Water Heater Technician

Our #uswhprofam has grown once again, with the addition of our new technician, Max! He is based in Harper Woods, Michigan, just northeast of Detroit, and will be helping us expand our service offerings throughout the entire state.

Prior to joining our team, Max attended Northwestern Technological Institute (like Allen!), where he received his HVAC certification. In addition to HVAC, he also has ID, OD, and surface grinding experience. All of this mechanical knowledge laid an important foundation for his work as a water heater technician, especially because of his knowledge of ventilation, which is often the cause of improper water heater installations.

Max has trained with Kevin, Jack, and Brian over the course of several weeks, providing him with the opportunity to see everything from minor/common repairs (like pilot and gas valve installations) to full blown commercial water heater diagnosis/repair and installations. Max’s primary goal during training was to gain as much knowledge on water heating systems as possible so that he can serve as an educational resource to all of his customers.

Max’s advice for homeowners and business owners is to perform preventative maintenance on a regular basis, starting in the first year of owning the heater. Living in the Midwest, we tend to experience harsh cold temperatures which cause our machinery to work harder and to utilize more energy to heat our water. Having your water heater cleaned, especially prior to winter months, can help ensure that it is fully functional throughout the winter months. Outside of work, Max enjoys spending his free time in Detroit. Some of his favorite local restaurants include: Sinbad’s, Caper’s Steakhouse, and Gilbert’s Lodge.

As of this week, he is officially out on the road in the Detroit area, performing service. In addition to utilizing his skills on the job, Max will be continuing his water heater education in early 2020, at A.O. Smith University. If you see Max on the road, let us know by using #uswhpro and be sure to stay up to date with us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
